Israel, Thomas - Haifa Museum of Art

focuses on creating interactive works, video installations, performance and sculpture. His unique approach to digital art is influenced by his background in the theater and deals with the body, time and unconscious.
His works invite the viewer to take part in the artistic experience and explore the self-image through processes of appearance, disappearance and composition, while based on the concept of temporariness. In the interactive installation Tom Peeping, a variety of eyes follow the viewer, and he raises questions about the subject of institutional and private voyeurism. The artist says: "I give the viewer the same voyeuristic look that he gives to others ... There is real discomfort in the fact that a huge eye is following you ... We live in an era where voyeurism is a common matter ... With Facebook, voyeurism has become the new norm." (Text: Haifa Museum of Art)
